What does it mean to be Christian Reformed? We call ourselves Christian because we are followers of Jesus Christ. We believe that Jesus is the Son of God and that He is the center of human history. We’re called Reformed because we grow on a branch of the church tree that emerged from the Protestant Reformation in sixteenth-century Europe and we continue holding fast to the inerrancy of the Bible expressed faithfully in the reformed confessions and the historic creeds of Christendom.

In addition to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, themes you will often hear in Christian Reformed Churches are God’s sovereignty, His covenant with believers, and His eternal kingdom.

What do Christian Reformed people believe? The bulk of what we believe we hold in common with the Christian church around the world and throughout the ages. Three creeds adopted by the worldwide church centuries ago summarize the most important tenets of our faith: the Apostles’ Creed, the Nicene Creed, and the Athanasian Creed.

Sumas CRC is confessionally reformed.  We adhere to the Three Forms of Unity, comprised of the following 3 historic confessions, the Belgic Confession, the Canons of Dort and the Heidelberg Catechism.
