We are led by a group of 3 male elders, and 3 male deacons. Our lead pastor is Russell Kent.
Russell joined the Sumas Christian Reformed Church in 2016, following 40 plus years of ministry at 7 different churches across the United States. In 2017 he was elected as an Elder, serving faithfully in that role for three years before transitioning to Senior Pastor in 2019. In 2022, he underwent examination and was ordained by the Christian Reformed Church in North America, at which time he was formally commissioned as Lead Pastor of Sumas CRC. A graduate of Regent College in Vancouver, British Columbia, where he earned a Master of Theology degree, Russell approaches the Scriptures with deep reverence and a profound sense of their authority.
